SOLVING THE ORGANICS ISSUE

Every aquarium produces invisible pollution. Fish waste, uneaten food, and decaying organics release compounds that cloud your water, cause foul odors, and stress your livestock — even when the tank looks "clean."

Standard activated carbon absorbs these dissolved organic compounds (DOCs) — but there's a catch. Once the carbon is saturated, all that captured waste sits inside the media, slowly breaking down and releasing toxic byproducts back into your water. You haven't solved the problem, you've only moved it elsewhere in the tank.  But it's still in the tank.

BioCore is the first activated carbon designed to solve that problem. It removes pollutants like every carbon does — and then its Outbreak enzyme spores actively digest and eliminate the captured organics before they can decompose and harm your fish.

HOW IT WORKS

BioCore combines two separate technologies into a single piece of media. Bituminous coal activated carbon does the adsorption. Outbreak enzyme spores do the digestion. Together they create a self-cleaning filtration system.

Why Bituminous Coal Carbon?

Not all activated carbon is equal. BioCore uses bituminous coal-based carbon — the gold standard for aquarium liquid filtration. Its mixed pore structure (40–5,000 angstroms) captures a far wider range of organic molecule sizes than coconut shell carbon, which has only tiny micropores suited for gas-phase applications. Bituminous carbon outperforms coconut shell carbon in water filtration every time.

Enzymatic Digestion — Destroy

BioCore is seeded with Outbreak Waste Control enzyme spores — the same bacteria used in Blue Shark's deep-cleaning treatments. These spores activate on contact with captured organic waste and digest it completely into harmless byproducts. The toxins are gone, not just stored.
